Phase 1
Phase I kicked off with the Coaches, training staff, LP (software on the website) does not support Coaching. So we do most of this manually.

2008 DFL Coaches List
1. Upload new progressed coaching ratings DONE
2. Announce any retirements of coaching DONE - None
3. Teams announce Firings (Must be done in a write up) HA! HA!
3A. Teams may re-sign their coaches before they hit the open market.
4. This will be done first for Head Coaches, then both OC & DC and then ST.
5. Draft order of all Coaching drafts is decided by record. Worst record is up first. Draft order will be listed after firing dates have past.

Restricted Free Agents (RFA) Starts: Jun 6 Ends: Jun 7
1. This is handled by the LP software.
2. This is the first time that trades are allowed during the off-season.
3. Your RFA signings DO NOT effect the 3 UFA's you can keep during the next session.

Re-Sign UFA Players Starts: Jun 7 Ends: Jun 8
1. The DFL allows you to re-sign all of your players. However, they must be signed at the $$ they are requesting. Not the lowest they'll take. You may adjust the years, but must take the default $$ they ask for INCLUDING bonus they ask for.

First Round Of Free Agency Starts: Jun 8 Ends: Jun 13
1. Prior to the draft we will have one round of bidding. It will be handled the following way:

Initial Bidding Starts: Jun 8 Ends: Jun 9
The very first stage is a blind bid on as many players as you like. You can withdraw offers during Initial Bidding, but not after. If you withdraw an offer, you can no longer make offers on that player in any subsequent phase of free agency.

Top Three Bidding Starts: Jun 10 Ends: Jun 11
The top three bidders are given the opportunity to up their bid.

Winning Bids - Sign Your FAs Starts: Jun 12 Ends: Jun 13
Winning bidders are given the opportunity to sign their players to contracts.

DFL Draft Starts: Jun 15 Ends: Jun 18?
1. We will use the LP Software to draft this first season. I will give everyone like 1 hour to make their picks. With draft times going from 8AM EST to 10 PM EST. Should only take us a day or so to draft.



Sign Draft Picks Starts: Jun 18 Ends: Jun 19
1. You send me an e-mail with the yrs you want to sign your drafts picks. Options are 1 thru 7 yrs.

Free Agent Round Starts: ?? Ends: ??
1. Another free agent round where you can now basically fill out the rest of your roster from what you didn't get in first round of free agency or the draft. Will be handled as follows:

Phase I

Winning bidders are given the opportunity to sign their players to different contracts. IE: 30over players to 1 yr or 2 yr deals instead of 3. Contract $$ must be equal to overall yrly bid. IE: 3 yr 30 mil bid, is 1 yr 10 mil bid. You can also sign any player to a longer term deal. IE: 7 yr 70 mil on above example. Players MUST be signed though if you win the bid.

After this round of free agency, the software is moved out of "Off-season" mode and into the next season. Pre-season schedules then uploaded.

A GMFL/DFL exclusive step that allows every team to add 5 points to their players. Each team can add no more than 2 points to any one attribute of a player (IE: Speed, AWR, THP). And only 2 points per player.
1. Each GM sends Commish an e-mail stating which players they would like to upgrade and which attribute and points should be added. Example below:

QB Jeff Johnson 2 pts - AWR
RB Tim Jeffries 1 pt - AWR
WR Who Cares 1 pt - SPD
DT Jets Blow 1 pt - AWR
